How do I get a certificate and key for my S60 handset?
Go to http://www.s60certkey.com and register for a new account. Once registered you can enter your IMEI number to process your request for a cert and key to be generated for your S60 Mobile Phone. Once your cert and key is ready for download, you will recieve an email informing you of this.
How long does it normally take for my cert and key to be generated?
Normally you should expect your cert and key to be generated within 24-48hrs though sometimes this can be even quicker
What Certs do you provide and for how long?
We provide Dev 17 Certs with full capabilities. These are valid for 3yrs from generation date.
I've recieved a Cert but not a Key or vice cera, why is this?
There was a bug that affected members who requested a cert and key between a certain date period of Aug 09, We are aware of this and as such have implemented a script so should this have happened to you, that your IMEI is automatically resubmitted back into the database to generate a new cert and key.
When i enter my IMEI it says "IMEI already exsists"
This means another member has entered that IMEI to request a cert and key, it could be that the phone used to belong to someone else or someone may have entered their IMEI incorrectly. If this has happened to you dont worry, just email me at admin@s60certkey.com and I will send you your cert and key manually
My Cert & Key are no longer in my account. What should i do?
Old certs and keys are deleted on a periodic basis to save server space. If you would like to have your IMEI resubmitted please email in support@s60certkey.com and we'll be happy to do this for you.
I have another problem regarding the generation of my cert and key, what should I do?
If you have any other problems regarding the generation of your cert and key please email support@s60certkey.com
How do i sign apps or games with my cert & Key?
You need to use signing tool provided which can be found in the forums with a detailed guide.
Why does the provided signing tool need to be used to sign apps?
Symbian dont like sites handing out certs and keys and as such Publisher ID's are constantly being revoked which stops sites being able to generate certs and keys. Publisher ID's are written in the cert file itself so can always be traced back to origin. To try and combat this the certs and keys are encrypted and need a signing tool that can read the files. This enables you to generate certs and keys with ease and at the same time makes it harder to have publisher id's revoked
If emailing in support please remember to include as much detail as possible. This FAQ will get updated as and when necessary so check back for updates.
